HIFF Spring Showcase Mid-Point: Last Chance To See These Japanese Films!

Japanese films, hands down, are the most popular films at HIFF. At this year’s Spring Showcase, there are a mix of world and U.S. premieres and arguably one of the best collection of films from Japan in years (according to some of our longtime members that praised the films that screened this past weekend). Many of these titles are having their encore and final screenings this week, so don’t miss out on your last chance to see these crowd-pleasing films that represent the best in Japanese cinema. All will be screening at Regal Dole Cannery Stadium 18.

The Golden Age of Documentaries continues at 2018 HIFF Spring Showcase

We live in the golden age of the documentary. As life becomes more interesting, and sometimes, stranger than fiction, these real life stories are presenting windows into the conflicts and connections that we all have in the current state of the world. The Docs at the 2018 HIFF Spring Showcase present a broad cross-section of historical icons, pioneers, tastemakers as well as shining a light at social issues that are needed to be told. Three of the eight documentaries featured are also straight from their world premieres at the Sundance Film Festival!
