Notre Musique screening!
LVHIFF is proud to be screening cinema legend Jean-Luc Godard's latest film NOTRE MUSIQUE at the Doris Duke Theater on October 27 at 6:00 p.m. and at the Dole Cannery on October 29 at 10:00 p.m. NOTRE MUSIQUE is his most affecting, ambitious and focused movie in years: a rumination on the dualities of human nature and the role of war in modern civilization. Philosophical, but not didactic, NOTRE MUSIQUE unfolds like a dream in three parts: Hell is a brilliant trip through 20th century armed struggle, drawn from archival footage and feature films; Purgatory takes place in present-day Sarajevo, under reconstruction; and Paradise is a surreal, serene beach in Rolle, guarded by U.S. Marines. As intellectually playful as Godard’s greatest works, yet suffused with an affection for humanity. -- Film Forum
