saturday at the signature theaters dole cannery
Chris Malloy and Thomas Campbell, the directors of A BROKEDOWN MELODY and SPROUT, respectively, had their Hawaii and World premieres last night at the Signature Dole Cannery! Chris was especially excited because "I've never had my film play in a commercial theater before! This rocks!" The sold out screening was a rollicking success, with some local celebs from NORTH SHORE and HAWAI'I in attendance.

Chen Xiao Dong, the co-producer of JASMINE WOMEN, touched ground only a few hours before the U.S. Premiere of his film. All the way from Beijing, Mr. Chen was astonished at the sold out screening and thanked everyone for attending. "It's a film about women" was what he simply put, and after the screening, he and his cohorts passed promo books from the film to the delight of many LVHIFF attendees.
