Hawaii State Foundation of Culture and the Arts
Lunchtime Lecture Series at the Hawaii State Art Museum (HiSAM)

Indie director Leah Kihara, winner of HIFF's Hawaii Film and Videomaker Award, will discuss the making of her film I SCREAM, FLOATS AND SUNDAYS!

Leah T.U. Kihara was born and raised in Honolulu and was graduated from the Kamehameha Schoosl before venturing to the University of Southern California to study filmmaking. As a producer, her short HAWAIIAN STING screened at the Sundance Film Festival. Leah has written, produced and directed a number of independent productions in Sri Lanka, Singapore, India, Tahiti and Rapa Nui.

After the lecture, check out HiSAM's SUMMERTIME exhibit, featuring I SCREAM... and the short films KAMEA (by Jennifer Akana-Sturla's ) and SUMMER OF THE SERPENT (by Kimi Takasue).

The ARTLUNCH lecture series takes place on the last Tuesday of each month and is designed with Honolulu's downtown business community in mind. Spend your lunch hour at the Hawaii State Art Museum for a change! HiSAM is offering interesting talks on current exhibitions and artists in the collection.

Lectures are at HiSAM's First Floor Multipurpose Room at the historic No. 1 Capitol District Building, 250 South Hotel Street.
