Andrew Adamson


NAF Feature Filmmaker

Andrew Adamson is an acclaimed director, writer and producer whose films have grossed over $2 billion worldwide. Adamson recently released the 3D film CIRQUE DU SOLEIL: WORLDS AWAY, as well as MR. PIP which he adapted from Lloyd Jones’ award-winning novel starring Hugh Laurie. Adamson made his directorial debut with SHREK, the first film to win an Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature. The New Zealand native wrote and directed SHREK 2, which garnered him an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Feature, and is the highest grossing domestic animated film in history. Continuing on with the franchise, Adamson wrote and executive produced SHREK THE THIRD and SHREK FOREVER AFTER. Adamson helped launch the hit CHRONICLES OF NARNIA series as writer and director of both THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE AND THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN, and as producer of THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER.

Adamson is currently developing numerous live action and animated projects with his longtime producing partner Aron Warner for their company Strange Weather including Joby Harold’s fantasy FOUNTAIN CITY, Darren Bousman’s flash mob thriller THE BYSTANDER EFFECT, and the animated adaptation of the Will Eisner Comic Dark Horse graphic novel BEASTS OF BURDEN.

Soojin Chung


A native of South Korea, Soojin Chung holds an MFA from the AFI Conservatory, and has helped to produce numerous award-winning short films such as THE 8TH SAMURAI and PORTRAIT FOR LEONORE. These films have gone on to win over 50 awards at various film festivals worldwide. Soojin has also worked on eight major feature films including Park Chan-Wook’s LADY VENGEANCE. Chung recently co-founded production company FORERUNNER FILMS, and has several projects in development. ESCAPE FROM TOMORROW, which had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival 2013, is her latest feature film.

Jean-Michel Dissard


Before directing I LEARN AMERICA, Jean-Michel produced several critically acclaimed films chronicling adolescent youth, including: RAISING VICTOR VARGAS (2002), RIKERS HIGH (2005), and EZRA (2007). He was also a writer and producer on DOWN TO THE BONE (2004), directed by Debra Granik. Dissard is on Cine-Institute’s Advisory Board, the only film school in Haiti.  Originally from France, Jean-Michel immigrated to America when he was a teenager.  He is a dual French-US citizen.

Harry Greggson-Williams


NAF Feature Filmmaker

HARRY GREGSON-WILLIAMS is one of Hollywood’s most sought after composers, whose scores span the spectrum of high-profile projects from action to drama to animation – each infused with the emotional punch and atmospheric intensity that mark his distinctive musical style. He worked on all four installments of the blockbuster SHREK franchise; garnered a BAFTA nomination for the score for the first SHREK; and received Golden Globe and Grammy Award nominations for his score to Andrew Adamson’s THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE. He has just completed work on Adamson’s MR PIP starring Hugh Laurie. His other recent work includes TOTAL RECALL starring Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel, music for Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS, the animated film from Aardman, ARTHUR CHRISTMAS, and the action thriller COWBOYS & ALIENS directed by Jon Favreau as well as the unique documentary LIFE IN A DAY. Gregson-Williams is currently working on THE EQUALIZER starring Denzel Washington for Sony.

Born in England to a musical family, Gregson-Williams earned a music scholarship to St. John’s College, Cambridge at the age of 7. He started his film career as assistant to composer Richard Harvey and later as orchestrator and arranger for Stanley Myers, and then went on to compose his first scores for director Nicolas Roeg. He has also been a regular and valued mentor at the Sundance Composers Lab working directly with talented emerging composers from all over the world. Gregson-Williams has lived and worked in Los Angeles since 1995.

Chad Hartigan


Chad Hartigan was born in Nicosia, Cyprus and attended the North Carolina School of the Arts, School of Filmmaking. He wrote and directed his first feature, LUKE AND BRIE ARE ON A FIRST DATE in 2008, which premiered at the Hamptons International Film Festival and went on to spawn a Latin American remake in 2013 called LUNA EN LEO. THIS IS MARTIN BONNER is his second feature.

Junya Sakino


Sakino was born and raised in Japan. He moved to the United States in 2000 to pursue his directing career. In Japan, Sakino produced and directed television programs. In the states, his directorial debut The Jazz Addict was an official selection for Crested Butte Film Festival. Soon after he attended California State University Long Beach’s film program where he went on to direct VANITY MIRROR, THE SPIRAL RING and ORIZURU. VANITY MIRROR won the Grand Prize for UTB Picture Battle competition. ORIZURU hit the worldwide film festival circuit in 2006 and received a generous handful of awards including the Hollywood International Film Festival award for Best Period Drama, the Best Screenplay award at the Media Arts Festival, Best Film at No Nuke Festival. The film was eventually aired on PBS. Currently, Sakino has been working in the commercial and film industry. He has also worked with acclaimed directors such Kazuaki Kiriya and Shunji Iwai. SAKE BOMB marks Sakino’s debut as a feature-length director. His credits include TAKAMINE, BANDAGE, BOKUTACHI NO PLAYBALL, STOLEN, HALFWAY, ETIENNE!, etc.
