How Flash Passes Work

A percentage of theater seats will be held for passholders at every screening. After the limit of held seats has been reached, ticket holders will be admitted and any additional passholders will be admitted based on seat availability, before anyone standing in the “rush” line.

* No tickets required – seating not guaranteed.  Seating begins 30 minutes prior to showtime. The allotted passholders are seated first, before the ticket holders. Passes are only valid for the festival for which they were purchased.

Support HIFF Today!

HIFF has been bringing great film experiences to the Hawaiian Islands for more than 30 years! Your support enables HIFF to:

  • Expand cinema through education with classroom visits, now serving classrooms and teachers all over Oahu and some neighbor islands.
  • Underwrite Hawaii State filmmaker submission fees to HIFF, host filmmakers from around the globe at HIFF.
  • Provide great intellectual nourishment for Hawaii and beyond with access to both up-and-coming and established filmmakers.
  • Produce the largest audience-driven film festival in Hawaii. We host two festivals per year; one in Spring and major one in Fall. The fall festival features screenings of over 200 narrative, documentary and short films from more than 40 countries.
  • Create experiences that bring people together to discover extraordinary films from around the world. It is through the art of cinema that we foster a community that is more informed, aware, and alive.
