LUXURY ROW PRESENTS EUROCINEMA HAWAI’I 2013

All films of European origin are qualified for consideration in EuroCinema Hawai’i 2013 — a “festival within the festival” celebrating the best of European films through the EuroCinema Hawai’i Awards Gala.

Founded and incorporated in 2009, EuroCinema Hawai’i is dedicated to the advancement of understanding and cultural exchange among the peoples of Europe and Hawaii and providing scholarships for film students. In 2011 our internationally recognized jury awarded Tiffany designed trophies in six categories: Best Actor, Peter Mullan for United Kingdom / Ireland’s “Tyrannosaur”; Best Actress, Tilda Swinton for United Kingdom’s “We Need To Talk About Kevin”; Best Director, Lynne Ramsay for United Kingdom’s “We Need To Talk About Kevin”; Best Rising Star went to Gregg Sulkin; Best Student Film “Pa’ahana”; directed by Lana Dang; and the Princess Alliata di Montereale Award for Best Film which was given to the United Kingdom’s “We Need To Talk About Kevin.”

A separate $3000 cash prize for the  EuroCinema Hawai’i Best Student Film is awarded to nominees selected from submissions from the state of Hawaii by qualified students. Shorts, documentaries, and features by student filmmakers will be considered.

To compete for this award, the filmmaker must meet all three qualifications:

  1. The filmmaker must be a current Hawaii resident.
  2. The filmmaker must be currently enrolled in an accredited academic institute.
  3. The film must be between 5 to 10 minutes in length.

All HIFF rules, regulations and fees for submissions apply for EuroCinema Hawai’i submissions.
See www.eurocinemahawaii.org for details and complete coverage of our 2012 Awards Gala.
