In this hilarious opus, the Filipino funeral is born anew. Deconstructed into several “pamahiin” and structured over the course of a week-long wake, the film is the story of a family forced by circumstance to reunite and bear each other’s companies while a wake for their dead father is held. In this movie, Filipino cinema is alive and well in this story of life’s triumph over death.
This is a feature-length documentary about industrial design. It is a look at the creativity at work behind everything from toothbrushes to tech gadgets. The film documents the creative processes of some of the world’s most influential designers, and looks at how the things they make impact our lives. What can we learn about who we are, and who we want to be, from the objects with which we surround ourselves?
Based on the popular manga of the same name, NORIBEN tells the story of 31-year old Nagai Komaki who divorces her aspiring yet failing novelist husband and moves back to her hometown with her young daughter, Non-chan.
