First ten HIFF 33 films announced!

With this year’s festival rapidly approaching, here’s a taste of the films that will be playing at HIFF from October 10-20. We’ll be releasing more film information on a weekly basis from now through the end of August, culminating in the release of the full festival program and schedule around September 1st.

Tickets will go on sale for HIFF members on September 20th, and for the general public on September 24th. Please see the box office page for full details.



Seven Korean films highlighted at this year’s Spring Showcase

While the Hawaii International Film Festival is a truly international film festival, we definitely lean more toward Asia and the Pacific Rim while programming the films in the festival. Much of this has to do with our location between the East and the West, the heavy Asian influence in the islands, and our audience’s tastes. Spring Showcase film program & schedule is now available!

We have just released the film program and schedule for the 2013 Spring Showcase, April 5-11 at the Regal Dole Cannery Stadium 18 & IMAX Theaters.

You can view the films and schedule online, or pick up a printed user guide. Guides have been mailed to HIFF Ohana members. They’re available at the HIFF office, and they’re being distributed around Oahu, so look at your local libraries, coffee shops, etc.

If you missed some of these films at our festival in October, Oahu residents will have another chance to catch them in the theater. Here are some upcoming theatrical screenings in November that we’re aware of:

HIFF at Hilo – October 26 to 30

The weekend after our festival concludes on O’ahu, we’re bringing a selection of films to Hilo on the Big Island. All of these films will be playing at the Hilo Palace Theatre. Tickets are $7 General, $6 Seniors & Students, $5 Palace ‘Stars’. On sale at the Palace Theater Box Office 10am-3pm weekdays. Call 808-934-7010 to purchase tickets by phone with a credit card. As this year’s festival approaches, we’re pleased to present the full film program and schedule of the 32nd Hawaii International Film Festival.
