2010 Festival Trailer

It’s the Hawaii International Film Festival’s 30th Anniversary year and a time to celebrate! Our theme “30 years of moving pictures” emphasizes the extraordinary films that HIFF has screened throughout our three decades and will feature this year as well.

We have assembled extraordinary films, after film discussions, special seminars, exciting events, and stimulating people to make this year’s HIFF one of the best ever. HIFF also presents several educational programs which yearly involve thousands of students throughout Hawaii. HIFF has also assembled many new programs for our 30th: a music and film series; “Film for Thought,” with special panel discussions following screenings; “Made in Hawaii,” for the first time featuring several Hawaii- produced feature films; and others as well.

HIFF has launched a “Buy a Button” fundraising campaign tied in with our 30th. Purchasing a souvenir commemorative button will get you the pride of showing your support for HIFF and will also get you into special film screenings and events which are only available to button wearers.

We enthusiastically send out a special welcome to our friends and colleagues from China, who are joining in the celebration of our 30th: The Shanghai Media and Entertainment Group; the Shanghai Film Group; the Shanghai International Film Festival, and the China Film Association.

Special thanks to our HIFF Ohana members, Sponsors, volunteers, and audience members who have supported HIFF through our first three decades. You have all helped make the Hawaii International Film Festival the remarkable event which it has become.
